So does anyone know what the problem is? As I said, I've tested the headset on my smartphone where it works fine, so the headset itself is not the problem. I've installed it but it doesn't show up anywhere in my folders. I've seen that with Realtek HD Audio manager you can change settings, but I can't get there. I've also ran the troubleshoot and updated the drivers that way.

Microphone only uses the built-in microphone and Stereo doesn't do anything at all.

So far I've tried changing the mic privacy settings, uninstalled and reinstalled Realtek drivers, changing to different sound input devices (I have "Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio)" and "Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition Audio)"). I've tried the headset on my smartphone, and there both headphones and mic work fine. The headphones work fine, but my laptop/Windows 10 doesn't detect or use the mic that is on the headset, but instead keeps on using the built-in mic.

My operating system is Windows 10 with these specs:Įxperience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0 I have an Acer ES1-521-24WZ laptop that has a single headset input for a 3.5 mm jack (it has a picture on it with a headset, so headphone + mic, so I assume this means it's suitable for headsets and not just headphones. I have a Trust Como headset with microphone, which came with a 3.5 mm TRRS jack. I hope someone can help me with this, because I've tried pretty much everything that has been suggested so far.
